The countdown is on and we are really looking forward to meeting you!

Here is everything you need to know.

Getting there:

Twyford Mill Equestrian, Mill Lane, Twyford, Buckinghamshire. MK18 4HA

Twyford Mill is situated between Twyford and Poundon just off the Bicester Road

From the A4421 take the turning towards Godington and Poundon (Coming from Bicester this is on your right, coming from Buckingham this is on your left).

Follow this road for approximately three miles – until you reach a pub on your right hand side. Immediately after the pub you reach the end of the road. Turn left towards Twyford.

After half a mile, on a sharp right hand bend you will see the tree lined driveway for Twyford Mill Equestrian on your left

The driveway is half a mile long – and we are on the left at the very top.

Please do not attempt to access via Mill Lane (from Twyford village). The lane is very narrow and not suitable for any vehicle larger than a small car.

Please note that the consumption of alcohol is not permitted whilst lessons are on-going – even if you have finished your own riding for the day.

Important information

To help ensure that our camp has no impact on the day-to-day routine at Twyford, please read the following so that the resident horses are not disturbed. Thank you.

  • The safety of those around us is paramount. Please be a conscientious rider and camper to ensure that everyone has fun.
  • Your camp includes day and overnight stabling (night of the 16th Sept) on the inside of the bottom yard/barn. This is the yard on your left as you drive in through the main gates.
  • Access to your stable is via the first wooden gate.
  • Visiting horses are not to go into the top yard of wooden stables, or walk in front of the external stables of the bottom yard, so please work out where your stable is before unloading your horse. This is particularly important as we have several stallions.
  • Each stable will have straw bedding for you to make a bed with. The bedding will be stacked at the back and you will need to put the bed down for your horse. You will need to bring a water bucket, hay, feed and mucking out tools. Please leave the stable as you found it; muck can be left in the blue trailer outside of the entrance to the barn.
  • Please do not hand graze horses during the day.
  • The cross ties outside the school are for resident horses only.
  • If you need to wash your horse down there is a tap in the barn, please bring a bucket and sponge and wash down in your stable. We do not have a hosepipe available for visiting horses.
  • Please do not enter the spa area unaccompanied, either on foot or with your horse, and please do not bring your horse further than the entrance of the school. If you would like to warm your horse up/cool your horse down before/after exercise you can hack down either of the front drives – but please do not hack up towards the circular gallops out the back of the lorry park as your horse may become unsettled with horses working at high speeds on the gallops.
  • Please keep any dogs in the lorry park.
  • The top portacabin by the horsewalker will have tea, coffee and snacks for you to help yourself to throughout the day, and this is where meals will be served.
  • You are welcome to watch as much or as little as you like during the day/arrive and leave as it suits you around your lessons.
  • We would ask that you keep the stables and lorry park tidy.
  • The welfare of your horse is also a priority. Please ensure that they have access to clean water at all times, that they are fed in plenty of time before your first lesson and are cooled off correctly after all lessons. We are here to help – if you are unsure of something please ask. If you have an issue please tell us so that we can do something about it!!

Our lovely range of clothing is available to order, including ‘Camp Graduate’ hoodies and polos.

Hoodies and Smile and Breathe baselayers are a unisex fit, with the polos available in both ladies and unisex fits.
